Lerdahl Business Interiors Winter Newsletter 2017

  Project Profile: CapSpecialty

CapSpecialty a growing, national specialty insurance provider for small and mid-sized businesses across the U.S., with its headquarters in Madison, WI.
Project Team
This fast growing company was running out of space for their employees. Leadership wanted to accomplish:

1. Consolidation of its office footprint

from two floors to one floor to reduce
operation costs.
2. Changing the office culture to one
that fostered greater collaboration
and integration and attracted younger,

millennial talent.

3. Having the look-and-feel of

contemporary workspace.

The project team partnered with key CapSpecialty stakeholders and leadership and listened to their needs and worked to make sure the design solution fit their objectives and budget. What was created was a layout with high density workstations, more collaborative areas and sight lines throughout the space.
“We want people to walk in and know immediately that they’re in a CapSpecialty office no matter where they are. Lerdahl has been an invaluable partner to help achieve our company culture aspirations, setting the company up for future business success.”
Stephen Sills, Chairman and CEO of CapSpecialty

It brings us great pride to be 30 years and counting with an established presence in our community as a private, local, and family-owned company. Thanks to all of you for your continued partnership and we look forward to supporting you in future endeavors!

Spread Holiday Cheer to Your Community
Getting ready to spread some holiday cheer? Think about spreading it beyond the walls of your company.

You know how the annual holiday party always brings a smile to your employees’ faces. What if this year you brought that same smile to the faces of people who aren’t your employees? Over the years, more and more companies and their employees have been participating in events that help them do just that for those in need in their area. It’s a great way to celebrate the holidays and give something to those less fortunate. Here are two simple ways to make the holiday spirit come alive;

Sponsor a Family
Contact a local homeless shelter or a shelter for abused women and children. Ask for the wish list for a few of the families staying there. Then divide your office into groups and give each group a family to buy for. This is a great opportunity for people from different departments to work together and spread some joy to the people who need it the most

Sign up for a Local Charity Event
Find out if there are any events happening in your area to support
charities. Then sign up your company as a team. If there aren’t any events happening, consider volunteering for a local food bank or soup kitchen.

To pick a favorite treat is impossible, but one holiday dessert that my family loves is Apple Crisp–sweet and tart apples cooked until tender, crusted over with a sweet and crunchy streusel topping and topped with a little ice cream (try cinnamon ice cream for a change). These three flavors hit all the notes of a perfect dessert on a chilly day or night.
I hope you enjoy my take on this classic holiday treat!
