In the ever-evolving workplace, MG&E found themselves driven by new and exciting trends that propelled them to make a significant change in their office redesign approach. Recognizing the need to draw people away from their desks and promote a lively community, MG&E wanted “The Hub,” a space that would serve as a vibrant and inviting gathering place. Their vision encompassed an environment adorned with light and greenery, offering a multitude of options for individuals to choose where they spend their time. It was paramount that this fresh and versatile space inspire the company’s culture, enabling every employee, regardless of their position, to make use of it.
MG&E sought furniture that would cater to a range of activities. They wanted a space that could support lunchtime gatherings, coffee breaks, one-on-one meetings, group discussions, and individual work sessions. Moreover, they sought after furniture that would possess the flexibility to adapt to changing needs, allowing them to reconfigure the space as required with relative ease.
However, the path to achieving their vision was not without its challenges. MG&E initially assembled a large group of individuals from various departments within the company to generate ideas. While this collaborative effort yielded valuable input, the decision-making process soon became cumbersome and slow, hindering progress. Sensing the need for a more streamlined approach, our team stepped in to offer a solution. We recommended a smaller decision-making group to finalize the project, with our project team taking the lead and making suggestions based on expert space planning, product selection, and finishes.
With our assistance, MG&E managed to overcome these roadblocks and bring their vision to life. The response to our solution was overwhelmingly positive, as the end users of the space expressed their delight and admiration. They felt that this new addition was precisely what their culture had been missing, and it swiftly became an integral part of their daily routine.
Through collaboration and a deep understanding of MG&E’s needs, we have helped them shape a space that goes beyond mere functionality. “The Hub” has become a symbol of the company’s commitment to fostering community, collaboration, and innovation—a space that not only enhances productivity but also nurtures the spirit of MG&E’s workforce.
